Why not use Convert (or similar instant routes)
Funding tip for the Red Bar workflow. Convert on Binance (and similar “instant buy/sell” buttons elsewhere) is built for speed. Convenience often hides a worse all-in rate than P2P.
TrendRunner’s stance for India: use P2P for INR ↔ USDT when you care about rate. Use Convert only for tiny amounts when you knowingly accept the spread.
What you lose
- Hidden spread: The quoted Convert price embeds a margin vs mid-market. On large sizes that is real money.
- Less transparency: P2P shows competing merchant prices; Convert shows one bundled offer.
- Habit risk: Repeated Convert on every deposit/withdrawal compounds fee drag on your edge.
- Wrong tool for cash-out: Dumping USDT via Convert to a wrapped bank product (when available) can be worse than selling USDT on P2P to your own UPI/IMPS.
When Convert is OK
- Very small dust balances.
- You compared the Convert quote to a top P2P ask/bid and the difference is tiny.
- You need speed and accept paying for it.
Better path
Buy or sell USDT on Binance P2P, then trade spot pairs. For the full loop see INR → USDT and cash out.
